Hyderabad, April 29, 2026: A criminal case has been registered by the Goshamahal Police against Girish Kumar Agarwal and three others for the unauthorized use of a siren on a private vehicle, misuse of VIP stickers, and alleged misbehavior with on-duty police personnel.
According to officials, FIR No. 150/2026 has been filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act.
The incident took place on April 28 at around 11:30 am, when a white Toyota Fortuner (TS 09 FP 5004) was intercepted by Sub-Inspector M. Raghavendra of Goshamahal Traffic Police near the Traffic Training Institute in Goshamahal. The vehicle was stopped for using a siren in violation of traffic norms.
Police said the occupant of the vehicle allegedly behaved rudely with officers and presented an identity card linked to a “National Human Rights Organization” in an attempt to justify the unauthorized use of the siren.
During the investigation, authorities found that the accused had misused both the siren and VIP stickers, which amounts to impersonation, violation of traffic rules, and causing inconvenience to the public. The vehicle has been seized and handed over to Goshamahal Police Station (Law & Order) for further investigation.
Notices under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 have been issued to the accused — Girish Kumar Agarwal (A-1), Hanuma Reddy (A-2), and Kitesh (A-3). Meanwhile, A-4 Nagesh is currently absconding and has been directed to appear before the police.
Public Advisory: Police have reiterated that the unauthorized use of sirens and VIP insignia on private vehicles is a punishable offence and urged citizens to strictly follow traffic rules.
