Woman Security Guard Sets on Fire by Employer, Dies in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 14 April: R Muniamma, 38-year-old, A woman security guard who was set on fire by her employer suspecting of committing a theft at her home, last week on Friday.

R Muniamma, succumbed to burns on Tuesday while undergoing treatment.

According to the police, R Muniamma a native of Nagarkurnool worked as a security guard at the residence of one Naga Kumari located at Kukatpally for last few years. Muniamma lives with her husband (construction worker) and the couple have 3 kids (two daughters, and a son).

Earlier there was theft incident at Naga Kumari’s house, in which gold jewelry was stolen, and Naga Kumari was suspecting Muniamma.

According to Narsing Rao, SHO Kukatpally police, on Friday, Naga Kumari and her daughter Swathi blamed Muniamma for the stealing gold jewelry and forced her to return the jewelry. During argument her employer along with her daughter doused Muniamma with thinner liquid and set her on fire and both ran away from the place.

Neighbors immediately rushed the Muniamma to a hospital where she died on Tuesday morning.
