Hyderabad: Employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) have announced an indefinite strike starting April 22, raising concerns over public transport disruption across the state.
According to union leaders, the strike has been called to press for long-pending demands, including salary revisions, job security, and better working conditions. Workers have alleged that repeated appeals to the government have not resulted in concrete action, forcing them to resort to protest.
The proposed strike is expected to impact thousands of buses operated by TGSRTC, potentially affecting daily commuters, especially in cities like Hyderabad and other major towns.
Transport authorities have not yet issued a detailed response, but officials are likely to initiate talks with union representatives to avoid a complete shutdown of services.
Meanwhile, commuters have been advised to plan alternative travel arrangements if the strike proceeds as scheduled.
