Set Back for BJP in UP, Lost in Ayodhya and Varanasi Panchayath Poll

Lucknow: In a shocking political development in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party led by Akhilesh Yadav defeated BJP in both crucial district Panchayat polls in Ayodhya and Varanasi.

Varanasi is PM Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency and maximum development work has taken place here in the past seven years.

In Varanasi (Total 40 Seats)

  • SP – Samajwadi Party won 15 Seats
  • BJP – Bharatiya Janata Party, won 8 Seats
  • BSP – Bahujan Samaj Party won 5 Seats
  • Apna Dal won 3 Seats
  • SBS – Suheldev Bhartiya Samaj won 1 Seat.

Ayodhya has been the important point of CM Yogi Adityanath’s development policies are being developed as the hub of religious tourism.

In Ayodhya (Total 40 Seats)

  • SP – Samajwadi Party won 24 Seats
  • BJP – Bharatiya Janata Party, won 6 Seats
  • BSP – Bahujan Samaj Party won 5 Seats
  • Independent won on 5 Seats
