Hyderabad: Dr. Sharda Suman, a Resident Gynecologist Doctor at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences at Lucknow, is airlifted to Hyderabad for lung transplantation surgery at Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) at Hyderabad.
Dr. Sharda, who was 32 weeks into pregnancy, had tested Covid positive on April 14, when her condition deteriorated during pregnancy an emergency C-section surgery was done on May 1 to save the infant.
After the delivery, her condition did not improve and doctors at Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences recommended that Dr. Suman should undergo a lung transplant.
As her family is not in a position to afford the expenses for a lung transplant, the UP government immediately approved Rs. 1.5 crore for the required treatment.
