Hyderabad Traffic Police Detect Fake Number Plate Vehicle; One Arrested

The Hyderabad Traffic Police, during routine enforcement checks, detected a Hyundai Creta vehicle allegedly using a fake registration number plate. The information was immediately shared with Attapur Police, who apprehended the accused and registered a criminal case.

The accused has been identified as Syed Rizwan Ali (28), son of Syed Adil Ahmed, a resident of Upparpally in Rajendranagar, Ranga Reddy district, and originally from Elugendal village in Karimnagar district.

According to police, the accused allegedly used the fake registration number MH04KW7706 to mislead authorities and evade traffic challans. Due to the fake number plate, traffic challans were reportedly issued to the genuine owner of the original vehicle.

Attapur Police registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act. Police issued a notice to the accused under Section 35(3) of the BNSS, while further investigation is underway to identify the actual registration number of the vehicle involved.

The Hyderabad Traffic Police warned that using fake or tampered number plates is a punishable offence and urged citizens to report suspected misuse of vehicle registration numbers through the official e-Challan portal, email, or WhatsApp helpline.
