“Upset” Over Birth Of Girls, Father Kills 3-Day-Old Twin Daughters, Buries Them Near Delhi Home, Arrested

New Delhi: A 32-year-old man, desperate for a son, allegedly killed his three-day-old twin daughters and buried them near his house in outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri area, police reported today.

The accused, Neeraj Solanki, was arrested in Rohtak, Haryana, authorities stated. The infants’ bodies were discovered by locals on the premises of a makeshift crematorium near Pooth Kalan village, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amit Goel.

Solanki, a Delhi University graduate, killed his daughters on June 3. The bodies were exhumed on June 5, following court permission, and taken to the SGM Hospital mortuary in Mangolpuri for postmortem examination, Goel added.

Driven by a desire for a son, Solanki murdered his daughters, who were born at a private hospital in Haryana. He deceived his wife, claiming the babies had died from an illness, and brought them to Delhi. The infants, still alive upon arrival, were killed and buried at the crematorium, Goel reported.
