Hyderabad: Cyberabad Police arrested a 27-year-old delivery boy from Jeedimetla for allegedly supplying mule bank accounts to cybercriminal networks involved in multiple online frauds.
The accused, identified as Dilip Singh, was reportedly paid ₹25,000 for each savings account and ₹50,000 for each current account that he provided to the fraudsters. According to police, he acted as a mule account supplier for gangs involved in trading scams, digital arrest frauds, online gaming frauds, stalking, and fake part-time job scams.
Investigators said Dilip came into contact with the cybercriminals in 2024 through an Instagram advertisement. After clicking the link, he was allegedly connected to the fraudsters via WhatsApp, where he was offered money in exchange for arranging bank accounts.
Police stated that even after learning the accounts would be used for cybercrime activities, he continued to assist the network for financial gain.
He allegedly collected and handed over bank account details, ATM cards, SIM cards, cheque books, passbooks, and other banking-related materials to cyber fraudsters in return for commissions.
During the arrest, police seized ₹1.02 lakh in cash, three mobile phones, 12 debit cards, one credit card, three bank passbooks, and seven cheque books.
Investigators also suspect the involvement of certain bank employees who may have helped facilitate the opening and supply of the accounts. Further investigation is underway to identify additional accused persons and possible banking network links connected to the fraud operation.
Police said he is originally from Nagaur district in Rajasthan.
𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘:
Cyber fraudsters actively hunt for “Mule Accounts” to hide and transfer stolen money. Never sell, rent, or share your bank accounts, passbooks, or debit cards for quick commissions. Allowing others to use your account makes you an active accomplice to cybercrime, leading to immediate arrest and asset freezing.
