Jailed Don, Chota Rajan Tested Covid-19 Positive, Shifted from Tihar Jail to AIIMS

New Delhi: Underworld don Chota Rajan (Rajendra Nikalje) has tested positive for Covid-19 and admitted in All India Institute of Medical Services (AIIMS).

61-year-old Don, lodged in the high security Tihar prison in New Delhi since 2015 after his arrest following deportation from Bali, Indonesia. He is facing as many as 70 criminal cases pertaining to extortion and murder in Mumbai.

Rajan was already convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment in the 2011 murder case of journalist Jyotirmoy Dey.

On Monday, an assistant jailor of the Tihar jail informed the sessions court, that they could not produce Chota Rajan via video conference for court hearing in a case as he has tested positive for Covid-19 and admitted to the AIIMS.
