Hyderabad: In a major development in the alleged murder case of senior advocate Khaja Moizuddin, police reportedly brought the two main accused from Bengaluru to Hyderabad for questioning at the Nampally police station on Sunday, May 24.
The accused, identified as father-son duo Mahbub Alam Khan and Mujahid Alam Khan, were named by Moizuddin’s son, who alleged that they had conspired to murder the advocate. He accused the duo of being “land grabbers” and claimed his father had been fighting legal battles against them to protect Waqf properties.
Khaja Moizuddin was critically injured on May 23 after an SUV allegedly rammed into him outside his residence while he was getting into his car. He later succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
The incident has triggered outrage and demands for a thorough investigation, with suspicions growing over a possible planned attack.
Meanwhile, Asaduddin Owaisi, president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, alleged that the advocate had been receiving threats for the past four to five years and claimed there was a larger conspiracy behind the attack.
Police are continuing their investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the advocate’s death.
