Hyderabad: The Telangana government is introducing significant changes to the SSC Public Examinations starting March 2025. These updates will impact the question paper format and evaluation process for Class X students, aligning with the decision to scrap the grading system and Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE) from the 2024-25 academic year.
Key Changes:
- 100 Marks for External Exams:
- The government has eliminated the 20 marks previously allocated for internal assessments.
- External exams will now carry the entire weightage of 100 marks.
- New Question Paper Pattern:
- Of the 100 marks, 70 will be allotted for theory questions and 30 for objective-type questions.
- This is a shift from the earlier format, which included 60 marks for theory, 20 for objective questions, and 20 from internal assessments.
- Development of New Blueprint:
- The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) is working on a revised exam pattern.
- Model question papers and the scheme of examination will soon be released to help students and teachers prepare effectively.
- Requests for Early Release of Exam Pattern:
- Teachers and students are urging the government to provide the new blueprint and model question papers promptly.
- This will ensure students have sufficient time to adapt to the revised format.
- Examination Timeline:
- The Directorate of Government Examinations plans to conduct the SSC exams in the third week of March 2025.
- A detailed schedule will be published after the Intermediate Public Examinations timetable is announced.
Implications:
The removal of internal assessments shifts the focus entirely to external exams, emphasizing a more traditional evaluation system. While this change simplifies the assessment process, students and educators face the challenge of adapting to the new format within a limited timeframe.
