Hyderabad: Telangana Congress Chief Revanth Reddy, speaking at the launch of a book titled Prophet for the World, clarified that AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi is not an enemy, despite his criticisms of Congress. Reddy praised Owaisi for being a strong advocate for the poor, especially minorities, Adivasis, and Dalits, in the Lok Sabha.
During his speech, Reddy highlighted the ongoing environmental issues plaguing the Esa and Musi rivers and mentioned that AIMIM had offered its support in tackling pollution. He further stated that the state government is working on a list of affected people to provide double-bedroom houses. Reddy emphasized that suggestions from AIMIM have always been taken seriously by the state government.
He also appreciated Owaisi’s consistent advocacy for the underprivileged, noting that his efforts, even when critical of Congress, were commendable. Reddy expressed satisfaction seeing a fellow Hyderabadi raise his voice for the disadvantaged. He lamented that few MPs today speak for the poor, and many from business backgrounds are entering Parliament without addressing these concerns. According to Reddy, Owaisi stands out among Telangana’s 17 MPs as a genuine voice for the impoverished.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched the book Prophet for the World, authored by Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rahmani, president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. The event was attended by AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and Telangana government’s adviser on minority affairs, Mohammed Shabbir Ali, among other dignitaries. Originally written in Urdu and translated into English, the book offers a detailed account of Prophet Muhammad’s life, presenting a unique perspective on his teachings and legacy.
