Cyberabad Police Bans Outsiders in Moinabad After Tension in Chilkur Village

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police have issued orders banning outsiders from entering Moinabad due to tensions in Chilkur village after a place of prayer was demolished on Monday.

Cyberabad Commissioner Avinash Mohanty issued the prohibitory orders under Section 163 of BNSS. These orders prohibit gatherings of five or more people and restrict entry to those who do not live or work in the area.

The restrictions are in effect from 6 a.m. on July 24 (Wednesday) to 11 p.m. on July 30 (Tuesday).

The Bajrang Dal has called for a protest, “Chalo Moinabad,” against the construction of a mosque.

Tensions escalated in Chilkur, Moinabad, on Tuesday evening when a group of Hindus gathered near the temple. A mob formed in the area after a mosque was demolished on Monday, July 22, prompting the police to mobilize forces to prevent any trouble. Muslims gathering at the site were asked to leave and handle any reconstruction work during the day.

TG Wakf Board officials, Muslim leaders, and workers from various political parties camped at the location where the Masjid-e-Jagirdar had been demolished, allegedly by land grabbers, the previous day. According to the Wakf Board Gazette, the Masjid-e-Jagirdar covered an area of 480 square yards (four guntas), while the total land in Survey 133 and 134 extends over 15 acres.
