New CBI Boss Appointed, Subodh Kumar Jaiswal is New CBI Director Now

New Delhi: Subodh Kumar Jaiswal, a 1985-batch IPS officer of the Maharashtra cadre and the chief of Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), has been appointed as the chief of the Central Bureau of Investigation for a period of two-year.

The central government notification issued this evening after a several meetings between Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, and opposition leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury.

Subodh Kumar Jaiswal (born 22 September 1962) is an Indian police officer in the 1985 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and the former Director General of Police, Maharashtra. He was previously the police commissioner of Mumbai, Jaiswal was with the Research and Analysis Wing (RA&W), India’s external intelligence agency for nine years, during which he served as the additional secretary of RA&W for three years.
