Murder Case Booked Against Minister’s Son in Lakhimpur Kheri Violence, Death toll Reaches 8

Lucknow: A murder case has been filed against Ashish Mishra, son of Ajay Kumar Mishra Union Minister of State for Home Affairs for allegedly running a car over protesting farmers in Uttar Pradesh Lakhimpur Kheri after four farmers were among eight people killed in the incident,

Other people have also been named in the First Information Report (FIR).

The farmers were protesting against the visit of ministers to the UP district.

Farmers also lodge a complaint against Ajay Mishra Teni, Union Minister of State for Home, and his son Ashish Mishra Teni in Tikunia, Lakhimpur Kheri over yesterday’s incident in which four farmers were among eight people killed.

However, Minister Ajay Mishra has denied that his son, Ashish Mishra, was linked to the violence.

“My son wasn’t present at the spot. There were miscreants who attacked workers with sticks and swords. Had my son been there, he wouldn’t have come out alive,” and “My son was present at the venue of the (Deputy Chief Minister’s) event… all through, I was accompanying the deputy chief minister,”
