Jagan Reddy Sweeps AP Civic Polls, BJP Wiped Out, TDP Wins 3

Amaravati, 14 March: Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leads AP’s ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) on Sunday marked a landslide victory in the urban municipal elections by winning almost 11 out of 12 municipal corporations and 70 out of 75 municipalities.

YSR Congress Party, the ruling party, wins almost Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) in all the districts, won majority of the divisions.

BJP in alliance with Jana Sena Party wiped out from across state. AP’s main opposition Telugu Desam Party manage to win just 3 municipalities.

YSRCP led by Jagan Mohan Reddy captured Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Chittoor, Tirupati, Kadapa, Ongole, Anantapur and Kurnool municipal corporations.

Ruling party said the massive win in civil polls is due to the implementation of welfare schemes, development of the urban bodies by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy despite corona pandemic.
