Infant, Hungry for 2 Days beside Mother Dead Body, No One Helped Fearing Covid-19

Pune: A baby 18-month-old was found next to the dead body of his mother who died for two days inside their home in Pimpri Chinchwad, Pune, Maharashtra.

No one reached out to the family fearing Covid; a smell forced the house owner to call the police.

On Monday, when police enter the hose after breaking the door, found the woman’s body and the infant next to her.

The mother of that infant was suspected to have died on Saturday, which this baby had been without food or water for the last 2 days.

Two women cops Sushila Gabhale and Rekha Waze took charge and fed the baby. They took the child to the government hospital for a corona test, and the test has turned out negative and the baby was shifted to a government creche.

The police are waiting for the woman’s post-mortem report to know the cause of death and it is not known whether she had Covid.

According to police, the woman’s husband had reportedly out of the state for work somewhere in Uttar Pradesh and they are waiting for him to return.
