13 Covid, ICU Patients Died in Fire Breakout in Virar, Maharashtra

Mumbai: At least 13 Covid-19 positive patients who were admitted to the ICU, have died in a fire at a Vijay Vallabh Hospital in Virar, Maharashtra.

Dilip Shah, CEO of hospital told media that, around 90 patients were admitted at the hospital at the time of the incident, Other patients from ICU have been shifted to other hospitals, as per the protocols.

According to an eyewitness of the incident, I saw fire tenders outside the hospital. The ICU at the second floor was engulfed in smoke. Only two nurses were there, couldn’t see any doctor. It took firefighters about half an hour to extinguish the flames.
