Covid-19 Second Wave Under Control in Telangana, No Lockdown Now: Chief Secretary

Hyderabad: The Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar on Wednesday said during a media briefing that the spread of Covid-19 in Telangana state and there is a clear indication of new cases reducing daily in Telangana. For the last 10 days, the epidemic curve is flattening.

Somesh Kumar said, If people take proper Covid precautions and the healthcare system of the State can reach out and provide medical facilities at the right time, there is no need to consider a weekend or total lockdowns. Many studies have clearly said that lockdowns are not a solution. At present and even in the future, this is the firm opinion of the State Government.

However, the cabinet will take a final decision about the present situation and lockdown-related issues.

He said the situation in Telangana is better compared to other states. There is no shortage of oxygen and medicines in Telangana. CM K Chandra Shekar  Rao ordered to increase oxygen beds. Covid-19  hospitals currently have as many as 62,000 beds. There shall be no panic about the corona virus, the treatment kits are available at all Government hospitals and dispensaries.

The medical staff across the state are working tirelessly and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has been closely monitoring the situation.
