No Second Dose of Covaxin, Stops Due to Shortage in Telangana

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has suspended the administering of Covaxin for people above 45 for a short period of time due to shortage of vaccines.

According to Director of Public Health, G Srinivasa Rao, there are not enough stocks available and fresh stocks have not yet been received from the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Details regarding continuation of vaccination drive will be made available afterwards, he said.

The announcement comes at a time when several beneficiaries have already overshot their due date for the second dose. There is no clarity at the moment on when the administration of second doses will resume.
