Hyderabad: Cases booked against Mohammed Majid Hussain former Hyderabad Mayor on charges of obstructing police from doing their duty, and threatening a person by Banjara Hills police.
According to Banjara Hills police, Mohammed Majid Hussain AIMIM Corporator Mahdipatnam (former Hyderabad Mayor), along with a few other persons had obstructed police officials from performing their duties on Tuesday.
According to the sources, there was a land dispute at Film Nagar between Nikhil Reddy and others. Today Majid Hussain along with a fellow corporator Naseeruddin Nanal Nagar division and two others Ahmed and Akbar reached the disputed site and allegedly tried to enter the plot upon which the Nikhil Reddy resisted.
On receiving the complaint, The police led by SHO Shiva Chandra. Banjara Hills police reached the disputed land, where Majid Hussain and his followers started arguing with SHO police about their presence at the spot.
After a video of the former mayor arguing with the policemen was widely shared on social media, Banjara Hills police booked a case under Section IPC section 353 and 506.
Another case was registered after a complaint made by one Nikhil Reddy who alleged that Majid Hussain and others threatened him and trespassed into his land.
