Haridwar Hate Speeches, Call for Muslims’ Genocide, Police Booked Ex- Muslim alias Wasim Rizwi

New Delhi: Police booked a case against  Jitender Narayan, alias Waseem Rizvi, who was earlier the chairman of Shia Waqf board of Uttar Pradesh in connection to the hate speeches at a religious conclave in Haridwar.

Police register cases after a massive outrage and condemnation on social media over the open calls for genocide and the use of weapons against Muslims.

After a complaint from Trinamool Congress leader and RTI activist Saket Gokhale police booked a case against  Jitender Narayan, alias Waseem Rizvi and others under Section 153A IPC.  The FIR says he and others have given a “derogatory and inflammatory statement against Islam” at the conclave.

Wasim Rizvi, after being “expelled” from Islam, converted to Hinduism on December 6 and change his name to Jitender Narayan Tyagi.

“Taking cognizance of the video that is going viral on social media for spreading hatred by giving provocative speeches against a particular religion, a case has been registered against Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Narayan Tyagi and others under Section 153A IPC in Kotwali Haridwar and legal proceedings are in progress,” read a tweet by the Uttarakhand police.

Earlier, Controversial Hindutva leader Yati Narsinghanand organized a three-day conference from 17 to 19 December in Haridwar, where open calls for genocide and the use of weapons against Muslims were made.
