An Engineer Works in Hyderabad, Spying for Pakistan Arrested in Gujrat

Hyderabad: An engineer employed by a Hyderabad-based company specializing in missile and drone components was apprehended in Bharuch, Gujarat, on allegations of espionage for Pakistan. Pravin Mishra, residing in Ankleshwar, Bharuch, originally hails from Muzaffarpur, Bihar. Authorities are extending their inquiry to scrutinize potential accomplices, including officers and staff, who may have aided Mishra.

Military Intelligence had alerted the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to the likelihood of current or former military personnel, individuals engaged in missile systems, and personnel from organizations such as DRDO and HAL being involved in divulging classified information. Mishra’s association with a Hyderabad firm involved in manufacturing missile and drone parts raised suspicions. It is believed he disclosed the technical specifications of these armaments after falling prey to deception by an individual posing as an Indian woman named “Garg.”

This case underscores the gravity of breaches in national security. Investigations are underway to ascertain the extent of Mishra’s involvement and to uncover any additional collaborators in the espionage scheme. Furthermore, authorities are scrutinizing the Hyderabad company to determine if there were any security oversights.
