Hyderabad: The Moghalpura police have registered a case against AIMIM leader Yaser Arafat and other party workers for criminal intimidation and unlawful assembly during the recent Lok Sabha elections in Hyderabad. On polling day, BJP candidate K Madhavi Latha was in the old city filming a mob at Bibi Bazaar junction when Arafat confronted her, leading to a mild protest. The police have booked them under various IPC sections and are investigating the incident.The Moghalpura police booked a case under Sections 147, 506, 509, 149 r/w 34 of IPC. All those who were identified have been issued 41 A CrPC notices by the police.
Earlier… Malakpet Police have filed a case against Madhavi Latha, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Hyderabad MP candidate, for verifying the identities of women wearing burqas at a polling station in the city.
After a Viral Video, the Hyderabad collector tweeted, “A case is registered in Malakpet Police Station against Smt Madhavi Latha, Contesting candidate, BJP under sections 171C, 186, 505(1)(c) of IPC and Section 132 of the Representation of the People Act”.
