Father-Son Duo Honoured by Hyderabad Police for Exposing Illegal Gas Cylinder Racket

Hyderabad: In a commendable act of civic responsibility, Hyderabad Police Commissioner V. C. Sajjanar honoured a father-son duo for uncovering irregularities in the supply of gas cylinders. The recognition ceremony was held on Saturday at the TGICCC office in Banjara Hills, where they were presented with a commendation certificate and a cash reward.

The duo, businessman Ashok Tiwari from Chudi Bazaar and his son Naman Tiwari, grew suspicious after noticing that gas cylinders were underweight. Upon closer inspection, they found that cylinders meant to weigh 30.4 kg were only around 28 kg.

Their inquiry revealed an illegal operation in the Jumerat Bazaar area, where gas was allegedly being siphoned and refilled into smaller cylinders. Acting on their complaint, Goshamahal Police Station registered a case against five individuals linked to Siddarth Enterprises. The accused were arrested, and authorities seized commercial, domestic, and small cylinders along with refilling equipment.

Praising their vigilance, Sajjanar urged citizens to stay alert and report unlawful activities. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against dangerous practices like illegal gas refilling and encouraged the public to immediately inform the police about any suspicious activities.
