Hyderabad: The Telangana State government plans to establish a school fee regulatory committee to control private school fees and ensure accessible quality education. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden on parents, with private school fees rising by 10% to 30% annually.
Modeled after the Telangana Admission and Fee Regulatory Committee (TAFRC), the new committee will oversee private school fees. Legislation to support this will take effect from the 2025-26 academic session, as the current year’s admissions are complete.
Previously, schools set their fees through a governing body, including school officials and parent representatives.
