In Varanasi, police have arrested 14 youths after a video surfaced showing an Iftar gathering on a boat in the Ganga River.
The group was reportedly seen consuming biryani during the gathering, while the viral clip allegedly showed food waste, including bones, being thrown into the river—triggering public outrage.
Following complaints, authorities registered a case citing hurt religious sentiments and public disturbance, and arrested all the accused within 24 hours.
Police are also probing the role of the boat operator, with further legal action likely.
