Train with Passengers Rolls Back 35 Kilometers in Uttarakhand due to Technical Snag

A passenger train going from Delhi to Tanakpur, Uttarakhand’s rolled backwards for more than 35 kilometers with passengers.

According to reports, when the engine driver of Purnagiri Janshatabdi Express applied brake to avoid a collision with animal on track. After applying the brake, the engine driver lost control of the train and the complete train started moving in reverse direction.

Train developed a technical snag after applying a break and started rolling back, however it was eventually stopped at the Khatima and the passengers were sent to Tanakpur by bus.

A engineering and technical team from UP’s Pilibhit has reached Khatima to investigate technical snag which led to the incident.
