Taraweeh, Iftar are Allowed in All Mosques across Telangana, No Covid 19 Restrictions

However, those coming to masjids for Taraweeh and Iftar would have to follow set guidelines.

Hyderabad, 12 April: This Ramadhan, Muslims in Hyderabad are allowed to pray following Covid-19 guidelines.

There will be no restrictions on prayers in masjids including Taraweeh prayers (special night prayer) there during Ramzan and Iftar.

Last year due to Covid 19 lockdown they were forced to pray at home and were not allowed to perform congregational night prayers in masjids.

However, those coming to masjids for Taraweeh and Iftar would have to follow set guidelines. As the gathering will be huge during the Ramzan month, the management is busy chalking out a strategy to ensure social distancing and use of face mask by the namazis.

Telangana state government has issued instructions to different public utility departments and civic bodies to provide necessary amenities near masjids during Ramadhan and to keep the city clean.

Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid, the city’s well-known mosques, have completed preparations for the Taraweeh prayers and iftar.

Mecca Masjid, one of the biggest mosques in the country, where nearly 10,000 people can pray each time.

Meanwhile in Makkah masjid, the ‘wuzu khana’ or ablutions repairing works and roof shelter erection works have been completed in the Makkah Masjid. All the carpets and chandeliers were being cleaned while the electricians conducted a thorough check of the internal wiring to prevent any breakdown in the premises during the Ramzan month.
