Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, MAU&D and Industries Minister writes to Défence Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh and requests the intervention of the Ministry of defence in giving directions to the Local Military Authorities of Secunderabad Cantonment Board for restraint in unauthorized blockage of roads.
KT Rama Rao further said to Defence Minister that this unauthorized blockage and closure of AOC roads affecting millions of citizens who live in north & north-eastern parts of Hyderabad city.
Local Military Authorities have been frequently resorting to the closure of these roads, resulting in inexpressible misery to large sections of people as they have to take a detour to travel on daily basis. It is distressing to note these roads are closed often for reasons bordering on frivolity.
The state had taken up all required necessary measures to contain Covid including lockdown in May/June and seeing the improvement, the lockdown was eased and, surprisingly, roads are now closed for aforesaid reasons, the statement further said.
KT Rama Rao further request defence ministry to kindly pass necessary instructions to the LMA Hyderabad to immediately open all these roads and further restrain them from taking any unilateral and arbitrary decision for closure of any of the Public Roads without following the due process
