Gaza, Palestine: Israel rocket killed a senior Islamic Jihad military commander Hussam Abu Harbeed on Monday.
Hussam Abu Harbeed died in a wave of airstrikes on residential and commercial buildings, including a seaside cafeteria.
As the conflict entered a second week, the death toll reached in Gaza 212, including 61 children and 36 women.
Israel also bombed what its military described as 15 km of underground tunnels used by Hamas, and the homes of nine high-ranking Hamas commanders.
US President Joe Biden has voiced his support for a ceasefire after eight days of violence between Israel and Palestinian militants in Gaza, but on the other side again blocked a UN Security Council statement calling for a cessation of violence.
