Hyderabad: An Inspector and Sub Inspector of Pahadi Shareef police station were suspended by Mahesh Bhagwat, Police Commissioner Rachakonda on Friday on charges of misconduct and taking bribes.
According to police, Pahadi Shareef police inspector Vishnuwardhan Reddy and Sub-inspector Kumara Swamy earlier detained a gutkha trader and he was also brought to the police station but later let off without registering a case against him. In another case, a vehicle loaded with stolen steel was also seized by the due but the accused was released without any action.
On receiving information and complaint about the misconduct of duties for alleged monetary gains, Rachakonda police commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat had suspended the Inspector and his subordinate Sub Inspector for allegedly taking bribes.
