Hyderabad: Hyderabad and Telangana police are already on a mission to hunt down an accused in rape and murder of the 6-year-old girl and offered a reward of Rs. 10 lakh, another attempt to rape case appeared in the city limits.
30-year-old culprit, Sumeeth was caught by locals and handed over to police, when a 9-year-old girl went out to go to a shop. Sumeeth, a resident of the same locality, allegedly lured the girl and took her to a vacant shop, and began misbehaving with her.
However, local people who saw him taking the girl into the shop rushed to the place and rescued the girl, Sumeeth was tried to escape but he was caught by local people and handed over to Habeebnagar police.
Police registered a case against him for kidnapping and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Further investigation is in process.
