Bengaluru: A 23Y youth beaten and stabbed in Mangaluru on Thursday for travelling in a bus with his college friend (woman) belong to another religion.
According to police the young woman was travelling to Bengaluru with her classmate in a private bus to help her as he was more familiar with the city.
Shashi Kumar, Mangaluru Police Commissioner said, “On Mangaluru city outskirts yesterday, around 9:30 pm, a bus was obstructed and a boy and girl who are classmates and friends, belonging to different religions, were forced to get down from the bus. The boy was beaten up and stabbed on hip, and when the girl tried to come in the way, she was also hurt.” Boy is in hospital being treated and his condition is stable,” Mr. Kumar said
Police arrested seven people, and four more from the Bajrang Dal who were involved will soon be arrested, police said. A case of attempt to murder has been registered against those responsible.
