2 Cops Suspended for Beating a Car Driver in Sangareddy

Sangareddy, 23 March: Two cops suspended in Sangareddy district on Tuesday after a video of them beating a vehicle driver went viral on social media.

Police personnel allegedly thrashed the man ‘brutally’ for stopping his vehicle a few meters away from the checkpoint in Sadashivpet.
In a viral video, a cops were seen kicking the driver, clutching his shirt, hitting the driver with a lathi. The driver, identified as Wajid. Later he was shifted to hospital and said to be treated for his injuries.

According to sources, Wajid a native of the town was on way to Singur and the incident took place near Sadashivpet’sAyyappa Swamy temple.

Chandra Shekar Reddy, Superintendent of Police, Sangareddy district personally ordered the suspensions of police constable Ramulu and home guard Balaraju after the video went viral over social media on Tuesday.

And Assistant Police Sub-Inspector (ASI) Durgaiah, and police constable Prasad were transferred to Sangareddypolice headquarters.
