Faisal, A Vegetable Vendor Beaten to Death by UP Police for Selling Vegetable during Lockdown. Cops Suspended

Unnao, UP: Faisal, was selling vegetables at the local market beyond the deadline of 3 PM when the accused policeman Vijay Chowdhary and home guard Satya Pradesh of Bangarmau police station allegedly started beating him for violating Covid restrictions, said Mohammad Islam, Faisal’s father.

According to the Faisal family, who files a police complaint against the police personnel after they trashed their son Faisal by police personnel and he lost consciousness after the assault but was still taken to the local police station, later he was then referred to the Community Health Centre in Bangarmau, where he died around 4.30 pm, said police.

Local people and the family of the deceased placed his body on the Unnao-Bangarmau-Hardoi road to protest against his alleged murder. “They were demanding strict action against the concerned police personnel and compensation for the family as Faisal was the sole breadwinner. 

Three police officials in the Unnao district were charged with murder and has been suspended

According to Addl. Superintendent of Police, Unnao, the responsible police personnel in connection with the death of Faisal has been suspended.
