Uttar Pradesh: A wedding in UP turned into the stuff of nightmares after the bride collapsed and died during the wedding ceremony.
According to sources, The incident happened in Uttar Pradesh state when Surabhi (bride) and Mangesh Kumar (groom) were tying the knot in a wedding ceremony on May 27.
During the Jai mala, the exchanging of garlands by the bride and the groom, Surabhi collapsed after she suffered a heart attack and died.
After the doctor pronounced the bride dead, the families of the bride and groom agreed the bride’s younger sister, Nisha, would wed the Mangesh Kumar (groom).
After Surabhi, fiancee’s body was moved to an adjacent room, her sister was ushered up to the altar by her parents and married Mangesh instead.
Surbhi’s brother told the media that ‘both the families sat together and someone suggested that my younger sister Nisha should be married to the groom.
“It was a bizarre situation as the wedding of my younger sister took place while the dead body of my other sister was lying in another room,” Saurabh, Surabhi’s brother further said.
