According to sources, Ms. Bedi’s removal as Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry was also one of the conditions placed by the two ex-Congress leaders who last month resigned as MLAs and joined the BJP.
New Delhi: President Ram Nath Govind, RemovedKiran Bedi as Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry, and asks the Governor of Telangana Tamilisai Soundararajan to discharge the functions of the Lieutenant-Governor of Puducherry, in addition to her own duties, until a new appointment is made.
The statement from President Ram Nath Kovind’s released late Tuesday night.

Two MLAs, A. Namassivayam and E. Theeppainjan joined BJP on Monday after they resigned from Congress on January 25.
