Laxmi Venkata Grandhi, 34, won One Million USD (INR 7.3 crore) after his ticket number (4829), which he purchased online on August 29, was drawn on Wednesday.

According to Dubai Duty Free (DDF), An Indian expatriate working in UAE from Hyderabad has won One Million USD (INR 7.3 crore) at the Dubai Duty-Free (DDF) draw.

Laxmi Venkata Grandhi, 34, won One Million USD (INR 7.3 crore) after his ticket number (4829), which he purchased online on August 29, was drawn on Wednesday.

A Dubai resident for last one year and a regular buyer of the DDF lottery, Grandhi said he was excited after having heard his name declared during the live draw on DDF’s official website.

“I’m really glad and thankful to Dubai Duty-Free for this amazing opportunity. This will definitely secure a better future for my family in India,” said Grandhi, who works as a software engineer in in UAE.

Grandhi is the 168th Indian citizen to have won One Million USD since the start of the DDF Millennium Millionaire promotion in 1999.
