740 Ton Ammonium Nitrate to Move Hyderabad from Chennai

Ammonium nitrate weighing 740 tons stored in 37 containers is being moved to Hyderabad in a phased manner from Chennai in this week.He said that as per the plans, 10 containers will be sent out daily to avoid bunching and increasing the risk.

A consignment of 740 tons of ammonium nitrate in 37 containers was imported by the Amman Chemicals in 2015 as fertilizer from Korea.

Since the importer did not have the necessary license, the Customs Department confiscated the entire consignment and had it stored.It may be recalled that 2,700 tons of ammonium nitrate stored at the Beirut port in Lebanon exploded on Tuesday, killing more than 200 persons and injuring thousands.Salvo Explosive and Chemical, Hyderabad bought the Ammonium Nitrate through auctioned.
