TRS, Congress, and BJP are contesting to prove their strength.
Hyderabad, 30 March: All political parties campaigning for Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly by-election is set to host a big political fight. The bye-election for the constituency was required after the demise of TRS MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah.
Earlier, this week Election Commission of India (ECI) issued a notification to fill up the vacant seat. The polling will take place on April 17, and the last date for filing nominations is March 30.
Bagath Kumar a TRS Candidate for by-election of Assembly seat. TRS announce his name on Monday. Bagath Kumar is the son of late TRS MLA Nomula Narsimhaiah from the same constituency, died in December last year, caused the by-election.
K Jana Reddy, a Congress Candidate by-election of Assembly seat. Jana Reddy a senior leader and former state Home Minister as it was his home constituency for the last three decades. In the 2018 General Elections, Jana Reddy lost to Nomula Narsimhaiah of TRS by just around seven thousand votes.
Ravi Kumar, A BJP candidate, in a surprise move, the BJP has decided to field Dr. Panugothu Ravi Kumar for the Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly by-election. The announcement came after much dilly-dallying by the party leadership as the last date for filing of nominations is Tuesday. Earlier Niveditha Reddy last week filed the nomination as the BJP candidate without waiting for the party’s confirmation.

Earlier in 2018, TRS, Nomula Narsimhaiah had defeated his nearest rival Jana Reddy of Congress by a margin of 7,771 votes. TRS polled 83,655 votes, Congress’ Jana Reddy secured 75,884 votes. Niveditha Reddy of BJP could get only 2,675 votes.
