Hyderabad: The Saidabad police have filed a case against Navneet Kaur Rana, a Member of Parliament from the BJP representing Amravati, over her recent remarks made during a public meeting in the city, known as the ’15 seconds’ remark.
The case has been registered under Sections 505 (2), 506, 171-C, 171-F, and 171-G of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), following a complaint lodged by an election officer on duty.
Rana sparked controversy during the meeting by directing criticism towards the AIMIM party and expressing that if given just 15 seconds, she would ensure the disappearance of both Owaisi brothers. Her comments were in reference to an alleged statement made by Akbaruddin Owaisi in 2012 in Nirmal, wherein he purportedly said that “if police were removed for 15 minutes, Muslims would equate the Hindu and Muslim population in the country.” However, it’s noteworthy that Akbaruddin Owaisi was acquitted in the mentioned case.
