Hyderabad: Wife was brutally killed by her husband with an axe over family issues on Saturday night.
The victim, Swaroopa, 33-year-old was married to Mahender, 35-year-old 15 years ago, the couple had two children aged 13 years and 10 years live in Dasarapally village in Kandukur mandal.
According to relatives, Mahender was addicted to liquor and frequently quarreled with his wife over minor family issues and beat her. Elders of both the families had counselled him to fix his ways but he did not change.
According to K Krishnam Raju, Inspector Kandukur police station, “On Saturday night, Mahender came home in an inebriated condition and attacked Swaroopa with an axe. Later he locked the children and his injured wife in the house and fled,”
On hearing the cries of the children, the neighbours opened the door, and found the victim lying in a pool of blood. Police rushed to Osmania General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
A case was registered by the police and efforts started to arrest Mahender.
