Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad reported an unprecedented surge in temperatures, with the city experiencing a scorching 43.8 degrees Celsius on Saturday, May 4th. This marks the highest recorded temperature for the month of May since 2015, according to the IMD. The outskirts of Hyderabad also faced extreme heat on the same day.
Jagtial and Karimnagar districts emerged as the hottest regions in the state, with temperatures soaring to 46.8 degrees Celsius, the highest recorded so far this year. Additionally, Nalgonda, Narayanpet, Nizamabad, Mancherial, and Peddapalli registered temperatures surpassing 46 degrees Celsius, indicating widespread heatwave conditions.
