Telugu Woman Buried in Saudi, Daughters Refuse to Receive Body in AP

Al Khobar, 05 March: Kondru Raji (47), a housemaid working in Saudi Arabia originally from Kadapa, AP, died recently in Al-Khobar Saudi Arabia.

She was buried in Saudi Arabia on Friday after her both daughters (divorcee and widow) refused to receive the body owing to financial problems and after knowing from the sources that their mother was practicing Islam in Saudi Arabia.

Kondru Raji, had lost her husband long ago. She went to Saudi Arabia to work as a housemaid where she died on 21st January 21. She was not feeling well and admitted to the emergency care of hospital in Al Khobar where she died due to cardiac arrest.

Her daughters, having no source of income, also were unable to afford the cost of bringing the body back.

A famous Indian society social worker Nass Shoukat was offering to carry the cost of transportation from the airport, cremation, and funeral rites in Kadapa as per Hindu tradition, however the daughter was not willing to receive the body.

Later, Nass Shoukat was informed by the deceased sponsor family that Kondru Raji was practicing Islam here in Saudi Arabia, after that, they decided to bury her as per Islamic tradition. Therefore, “Kondru Raji was buried in Al Khobar as per Islamic tradition after Friday prayers”, added Nass Shoukat.

Nass Shoukat a 60-year-old humanitarian worker from India figures prominently in the expatriate community of the Eastern Province. He hails from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, has helped thousands of grief-stricken people during his social service spanning more than 30 years.
