Taliban Appoints Défense, Finance, Interior Ministers: Report

Kabul: Taliban has started appointing ministers in the government to run the country are now switching focus to how to run a country in crisis.

President: Taliban de-facto ruler, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the co-founder and deputy leader of the Taliban, is most likely to be the next president of Afghanistan.

Defense Minister: Taliban have appointed Mullah Abdul Qayyum Zakir, as Defense Minister. he is a former detainee at the US prison in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba. (Al Jazeera)

Finance Minister: The new Finance Minister is Gul Agha, who is on international sanctions lists for acting like the Taliban’s financial chief, reported by Afghanistan’s Pajhwok news agency.

Interior Minister: Taliban have appointed Sadr Ibrahim as acting Interior Minister of Afghanistan.

Taliban Spokesperson: Zabihullah Mujahid appointed as Taliban government spokesperson

Head of the Central Bank: Earlier, the Taliban appointed Haji Mohammad Idris as acting head of the central bank. he had long experience working on financial issues with the previous leader, Mullah Akhtar Mansour, who was killed in a drone strike in 2016.
