Hyderabad: Son, 2 Daughters Sentenced to Life Imprisonment for Father’s Murder

Hyderabad: Three siblings, Medipally Tarun, S Anjali, and S Priyanka, were sentenced to life imprisonment by a local court in L B Nagar for murdering their father, Krishna, in 2018. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 500 on each of them.

  • Victim: Krishna, a retired attender from the waterworks department.
  • Family Details: Krishna had five daughters (two of whom were married) and one son, Tarun. His wife had passed away about 12 years before the incident due to ill health.
  • Living Situation: After his retirement in June 2018, Krishna took a flat on rent in Nandanavanam and lived alone because of conflicts with his children.
  • Financial Dispute: Upon his retirement, Krishna received approximately Rs 12 lakh as gratuity. His children, Anjali, Priyanka, and Tarun, pressured him to share this money with them, which he refused to do.

The Incident

  • Location: Old Jillelaguda house, Meerpet, Hyderabad.
  • Events Leading to the Murder: On the morning of November 11, 2018, Krishna visited his children at their residence. After lunch, a heated argument broke out between Krishna and his children over the gratuity amount. Around 6 pm, enraged by his father’s refusal to share the money, Tarun picked up an iron rod and struck Krishna on the legs, causing severe bleeding. The family delayed taking him to the hospital until midnight, where Krishna was declared “brought dead.”

This tragic case highlights the severity of family disputes over financial matters and has resulted in a life sentence for the three convicted siblings.
