Hyderabad: Six family members were killed a road accident and five others injured, when their car met an accident with a borewell truck near Chevella on Bijapur national highway in the early hours of Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Asif Khan (50), Nazia Begum (45), Nazia Bano (36), Sania (17), Arshad (28), Asra Bano (6).

Two seriously injured, Syed Ali and Begum have been shifted to a private hospital in Hyderabad.

Three more injured Nausheer, Anwar Khan, and an infant are being treated at Chevella government hospital.

All of them belong a same family and the resident of Tadbund area in Secunderabad.

All the 11 members of the family was traveling to Gurmatkal in the Yadgir district of Karnataka in a Toyota Innova.

According to police, the driver Innova was trying to overtake another vehicle at a road turning, failed to notice a borewell truck coming in opposite direction, and hit the truck. The Innova car in which they were travelling crushed completely and six of the family members died on the spot.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to the mortuary of the government hospital Chevella and the case is being investigated.

Further investigation is in process by Chevella police.
