Hyderabad: In the GHMC election more than 43% voters turn on Tuesday to cast their votes.
Except in one division, Old Malakpet, where polling had to be rescheduled to December 3 due to discrepancy of election symbols in ballot papers, the poll process was smooth in the rest 149 divisions.
In Old Malakpet Division, the symbol of the CPI-M was printed as symbol of the CPI, hence State Election commission postponement of polling to December 3.
Telangana State Election Commission said final polling percentage Established on Wednesday early morning. The overall poll percentage in the GHMC elections was recorded at 45.70 percent, just higher than 2016 elections.

Nadda and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The counting of votes and election results will be declared on 4th December.
Like in the past, voters lacked enthusiasm as several polling stations wore a near deserted look throughout the day.
Long week-end holidays, holidays from Saturday till Tuesday and Covid-19 pandemic considered to have led to low turnout of voting percentage.
Total of 1,122 candidates including independent candidates are contesting in the election.
- TRS is contesting all 150 divisions,
- BJP has fielded candidates in 149 divisions,
- Congress in 146 municipal divisions,
- TDP contests in 106 divisions,
- AIMIM contesting in 51 divisions,
- CPI in 17 divisions, and
- CPI-M in 12 divisions.
- Other parties fielded 76 candidates in different divisions, and
- 415 Independent candidates trying their luck in GHMC election.
