BJP MLA Raja Singh Convicted for One Year for Assault on Police, Given Bail

Hyderabad: T. Raja Singh, MLA BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) Goshamahal constituency (Hyderabad) was on Friday sentenced to one year of jail by Special Sessions Court in Hyderabad. The Session court also fine of Rs.5,000 on Raja Singh.

However, the court granted him bail and suspended the sentence, giving him one month to appeal before the High Court.

Raja Singh was booked in 2015 at Bollarum police station for assault, threatening the police and trying to disrupt the ‘beef festival’ at the Osmania University campus organized by Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Osmania University.
